“Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies.”
Jordan and Ashland are my featured client this week. I have to admit, I do love working with couples in love. We love lots of light and color, but connection is everything in our images. Whether the relationship is a few weeks or 50 years, watching couples connect with each other is incredibly beautiful. It was certainly no different for Jordan and Ashland.
We have been trying to plan a couples session since early January. Our schedules, as busy as they have been, were not matching until two weeks ago. However, this session was not without its challenges. Ashland is as student the University of Utah and both work full-time. Two days before the session, Jordan had surgery on his eyes and needed to keep his eyes covered with sunglasses whenever possible. Therefore, it was going to be the task to keep him out of the sun. In addition, the sun was out and some beautiful fluffy clouds were high in the sky that morning, it was perfect for a couples session in the park. Which, I have to say was a welcome sight after receiving snow earlier in the week. Suffice it to say, we made it happen with beautiful results.
All of my sessions are based on connection and these two made it easy for me; it did not take much to get them to respond to each other. Sure, a pretty pose and a smile facing the camera is great and has its place, but there is nothing quite like the genuine emotion they have for each other to make a moment great. It is not difficult to tell the love between these two is very strong. We had some great moments during the shoot full of smiles and laughter. After that, we had some really tender emotional ones too. With that being said, we wish them a long road of happiness in the days, months and years to come.
In conclusion, there gallery was beautiful, but don’t take my word for it. Here is a peek at their gallery:
